Afterpay is a service that allows customers to pay for their purchases in instalments, rather than paying the full amount upfront. It’s a convenient option for those who want to spread out the cost of their purchases, and it’s becoming increasingly popular in the US.
Can You Use Afterpay At Walmart?
Unfortunately, Walmart does not accept Afterpay. It’s not clear if it plans to offer it in the future, but it seems unlikely given that the fact it also do not accept other popular financing methods like Klarna, likely due to its existing partnership with Afterpay rival Affirm.
Walmart customers can use Affirm to finance qualifying online or in-store purchases with interest-free instalments. Keep in mind that this financing option is only available on select items, and not on all purchases like Afterpay and Klarna offer to their customers.
A Workaround to Use Afterpay at Walmart
However, there’s workaround to use Afterpay at Walmart. You can buy a Walmart gift card from the Afterpay website, available in n denominations ranging from $5 to $500, which can be used to make purchases at Walmart stores or through its website.
While many retailers have embraced the convenience of mobile payments, Walmart has chosen to block the most widely-adopted solutions (Apple Pay and Google Pay) from being used in its stores, instead pushing use of its its own payment system, Walmart Pay.
