Does Chewy Accept Care Credit?

Chewy is the leading online retailer for food, medication and accessories for animals of all shapes and sizes, and it’s often cheaper than its brick-and-mortar counterparts. But does Chewy accept Care Credit? You’d think it would, because it’s a credit card, albeit a special a special, low-interest one that’s exclusively for medical expenses that aren’t covered by insurance — but retailers need to enrol in it, and some leading pet brands like PetSmart and Chewy haven’t made the move.

Does Chewy Accept Care Credit?

Chewy does not accept Care Credit. The retailer takes Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay and PayPal. This also applies to PetSmart, which used to own Chewy. However, Walmart — which has its own pet superstore called WalmartPetRx, that stocks and dispenses prescription medication, with some retail locations offering vaccinations — does accept Care Credit. Sam’s Club, Rite Aid and Walgreens also accept the credit card, but have a smaller selection than Walmart.

You can use Care Credit to spread the cost of prescription pet medication, food and nutritional supplements, vaccinations and microchipping. No interest is charged on purchases over $200, assuming the minimum monthly payments are made and the full amount is settled by the end of the promotional period, which cannot exceed 24 months. Longer financing options are available (up to 60 months) with a reduced interest amount and fixed monthly payments, compared to a traditional credit card.
