How to Cancel ESPN Plus

Subscribed to ESPN Plus only to now find yourself hardly using the streaming service? Maybe you subscribed to watch an event, like the PGA Tour or the recent Fury vs Whyte live stream, and now want to stop the monthly (or annual) membership from renewing? You’ll be pleased to hear you can cancel ESPN Plus in a few minutes, but the steps you’ll need to follow depend on how you signed up.

Customers who signed up online with a credit or debit card can head over to the ESPN Plus website and cancel their subscription from there. Meanwhile, those who subscribed an iPhone or iPad using their Apple ID to handle the payment will need to cancel their membership from the Subscriptions menu on their mobile device, or through the Apple App Store on a Mac. Both are extremely easy to do.

The quickest way to cancel ESPN Plus on an iPhone or iPad is to head into Settings, then click on your name at the top of the screen, followed by Subscriptions. From there, find and select ESPN Plus, then click Cancel Subscription. You can also do it from within the App Store on a Mac, by clicking your name in the bottom-left, followed by View Information and Manage next to Subscriptions.

Signed up for ESPN Plus through Roku? You’ll need to cancel it through the Roku website. The same applies to most other services you may have received ESPN Plus through. If they’re handling the payment, you’ll probably need to cancel your membership through them. There are a couple of exceptions though, like cable television provider Xfinity, so always try to cancel on the ESPN Plus website first.

You’ll be able to continue to access your subscription until it’s due to renew, so if your renewal date is October 19 and you cancel on October 5, you’ll be able to use it until October 19, when it will automatically cancel and access will be restricted.

We should note, however, that customers who subscribed to ESPN Plus through the Disney Bundle, which sees Disney Plus and Hulu also included in the subscription, will instead need to cancel their membership to the Disney Bundle, to cancel ESPN Plus as well. This will also cancel Disney Plus and Hulu, so consider leaving ESPN Plus alone if you’re actively using the other two services.
