How to Cancel Home Chef

You don’t need to cancel Home Chef to take a break from the service: You can skip orders if you don’t like the look of the recipes one week, or want to take an extended hiatus. But if you do want to cut ties with Home Chef for the foreseeable (or forever), you can cancel your subscription in less than the time it takes to brown some onions.

Before we dive into how to cancel Home Chef, there are a couple of things to be aware of: 1) You’ll need to cancel your subscription before Friday at 12 PM (CEST) if you don’t want to receive a delivery for the upcoming week; and 2) You can reactivate your subscription at any time — canceling a membership does not delete your account.

How to Cancel Home Chef

  1. Head over to the Home Chef website and sign in.
  2. Next, select Account from the top-right corner of the dashboard.
  3. Click on the Account Settings tab and select Pause Subscription.
  4. Share your reason for cancelation then confirm you wish to proceed.

Want to cancel Hello Chef within the application on Android or iOS? The process has some small changes. You’ll need to click Account from the bottom-right, followed by My Settings, and select Pause My Account, then follow the steps to enter a reason for cancellation and confirming you wish to cancel your account.

Now, some more things to keep in mind: Even though Home Chef says you’re pausing your subscription, you’re canceling it. You aren’t forced to renew it, nor will it start up again automatically. You’ll also want to be aware that you need to share a reason for cancelation and reach the confirmation screen to cancel Home Chef.

You will receive a confirmation email within half an hour of canceling your Home Chef subscription, so be sure to keep an eye out for that. If for whatever reason you don’t receive it, run through the steps above again, then if you have no luck reach out to support to let them know you’re trying to cancel your membership but to no avail.
