How to Cancel Uber One

Gone are the days of heading over to a service’s website to cancel a membership. Now, with more platforms out there handling payment processing to make the purchasing process as easy as possible for the end service, most services require you to cancel the subscription through the platform you used to sign up — including Uber One.

This means that if you signed up for the service on an iPad, you’ll need to cancel it using your Apple ID on that device. The same applies to those who subscribed on an Android, who will need to cancel it through the Play Store using their Google Account. But those who signed up online, with a credit card, can cancel it on the website, on any device.

How to Cancel Uber One

  1. Go to the Uber website.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Click on your name in the top right corner of the page.
  4. Select “Account settings.”
  5. Scroll down to the “Uber One” section.
  6. Click on “Cancel Uber One.”
  7. Follow the instructions to confirm your cancellation.

Subscribed to Uber One on iPad or iPhone? You probably used the App Store to set up the membership. If that’s the case, you’ll need to cancel it via your Apple ID. This can be done using any device signed in to your Apple ID, like an iPad, iPhone or Mac. You can check to see by visiting Subscriptions in Settings on your handset.

You’ll be able to continue to access your subscription until it’s due to renew, so if your renewal date is October 22 and you cancel on October 11, you’ll be able to use it until October 22, when it will automatically terminate and access will be restricted. The renewal date will be at the bottom of the screen before you click cancel at Step 4.

How to Cancel Uber One on an Android Device

If you initiated your Uber One membership on Android and use the Play Store to process your payment, you’ll need to cancel it in there. This can be done in a few taps: Tap the profile icon in the top-right, followed by Payments & Subscriptions, then locate and cancel it. Your subscription then won’t renew on the renewal date.

Can’t Cancel Uber One? One Last Thing to Try

If all else fails, contact Uber and let them know you’ve been trying to cancel your account, but to no avail. Tell them the date you first attempted to cancel, and that you haven’t used the service since. This will increase your chances of receiving a refund should the cancelation not be processed until the renewal date.

Uber One Cancellation FAQs

Have some burning questions about how to cancel Uber One? We may have the answer below.

Is Uber One Hard to Cancel?

Uber One is easy to cancel, provided you remember how you signed up. You’ll need to cancel your membership using the same method, so if you used a credit card and a laptop, you’d cancel it on the Uber One website. If you subscribed using an iPhone or iPad through the App Store, you’d cancel through that and not the website.

Can You Cancel Uber One at Any Time?

You can cancel Uber One at any time. You’ll then be able to continue using your membership up until the renewal date, so if you cancel on the 10th and it was due to renew on the 12th, you can continue using it for a couple more days. Cancel on the renewal date itself, however, and it won’t take effect until the following month.

Can You Cancel Uber One During a Free Trial?

You can cancel Uber One as soon as you’ve started your free trial, and you’ll still be able to continue using it up until it’s set to end.

Can You Cancel Uber One and Get a Refund?

Like most subscription services, Uber doesn’t offer a refund to customers who cancel their membership — most of the time. However, if you haven’t used the service since the last billing cycle, or if you subscribed by accident and haven’t used it at all, you may be able to receive one by explaining the situation to customer support.
