Can You Use Klarna at Argos?

You won’t find Klarna listed as a payment method on the Argos website, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use it there. In fact, you can use Klarna at any online retailer that takes Visa cards — including Argos — using the service’s one-time card feature that lets you spread any purchase over three months, or defer payment for 30 days, interest-free. But to use Klarna at Argos, you’ll need to first install the Klarna App for Android or iOS.

How to Use Klarna at Argos

Using Klarna at Argos is easy. Just head over to Argos through the Klarna App, and add your some items to your basket. Once you’re ready to pay, click the ‘Pay with K’ button. Enter the total value of the transaction, including shipping, and select a payment term. You’ll then be awarded a virtual card that you can use when you reach checkout. You’ll need to copy and paste this long card number, expiry date and security code when you’re ready.

Remember that your payment card on file will be debited the first instalment immediately if choose Pay in 3. If the creation of the one-time card was declined, check you have enough money available and try again. This means that if you’re buying something for £75, you’ll need to be able to hand over £25 right away. But if you defer payment for 30 days you won’t have to hand over a penny at the time you submit the order.

How Do Klarna Refunds Work?

If you’ve returned everything in the order, all instalments made will be refunded back to the debit card linked to your Klarna account. Meanwhile, partial refunds are deducted from the outstanding balance and spread evenly across the remaining payments. So if you have two payments of £10 outstanding and return an item worth £10, the two payments will be reduced to £5. If no additional payments are due, a full refund will be issued.

How to Finance Argos Purchases at a Store

Alternatively, if you’re looking to shop at one of Argos physical locations, we recommend Zilch. Klarna has the Klarna Card — but that requires you to pay the balance in full in 30 days. Zilch, on the other hand, lets you spread the cost over 4 interest-free instalments, paid every two weeks, using Apple Pay or Google Pay in any store that accepts MasterCard. Similar to a credit card, you’ll have a Zilch credit limit. But there’s no hard credit check.

Argos also has its own Argos Card credit card. This works more like a traditional credit card and has a hard credit check, and balances are reported to credit agencies. The card does have some benefits though. Argos regularly hosts promotions for holders, including a Buy Now, Pay Later scheme. Right now, customers can buy selected furniture, TVs, tablets, and fitness equipment and not have to pay anything for as long as 12 months.
